Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is not a normal kid. Normal kids don’t get attacked by evil flying teachers or are given a pen that turns into a sword. But all that changes when Percy gets attacked while on vacation and his mom disappears.

Now he has to learn the truth about his dad and figure out a way to get his uncle's weapon back. Percy’s been blamed for taking the weapon; he needs to find it and give it back (preferably) before the gods start World War 3.

I really liked this movie. The plot was good and they included other cultures a bit which made Marvel, an already multicultural studio, even more so. This was not my favorite movie, but I think it will be a very important one after a few others are released. If you go to see this movie, keep watching the credits for an after credit scene. Overall I rate this movie a 6/10.

*** SPOILER ALERT!!! ***

Before you read any further,  we must warn you that this review contains spoilers not only to Shang Chi but other movies as well.

Shang-Chi Legend of the Ten Rings is the newest Marvel movie. The movie takes place in 2023 and Marvel fans think it is a very important movie considering the movie takes place after Avengers Endgame. The movie starts off by introducing Shaun Chi and his best friend, Katy Chen. We learn a little bit about Shaun’s past. He was raised as a spy and assassin to work for his father. Shaun also has a sister that he was separated from when they were kids. Shaun escaped from his father and moved to San Francisco where he met Kate.

The movie continues and Shaun and Kate try to find his sister because he thought a postcard sent from their father was sent by his sister, Xu Wenwu. When they find Xu, they get attacked by their father’s army. After the attack, they get captured and escape with the help of an actor. While in captivity, they find out that Shaun’s father is planning to find their mother and try to bring her back to life. When they escape, they go to where their mother is but find that she has already passed -- the only thing that their father was trying to bring back to life was his glory as a war lord.

The tribe that Shaun’s mother used to be a part of teaches Shaun, Kate, and Xu how to defend themselves and prepares them for the attack. When Shaun’s father attacks, he does not go for the ashes of Shaun’s mother -- he goes for a wall on a mountain that has a scaly pattern. The father flies up to the wall and starts banging on it -- bang bang bang! With every bang, a soul sucking monster flies out and attacks one of the soldiers from each army.  Eventually Shuan climbs up to the wall and starts to fight his father. Shaun wins the fight but it is too late. His father already set the mega soul sucker free and unless he is able to defeat it, the whole world will end. Shuan throws punch after punch, kick after kick, but it’s not enough; Suan gets knocked off. SPLASH! into the water he goes. Soon after he finds a water dragon which he uses as a weapon to defeat the Mega Soul Sucker. The dragon leaps out of the water and onto the Soul Sucker. The Dragon puts up a hard fight and defeats the soul sucker.

Shaun, Kate, and Xu are invited to stay with the tribe. Xu stays to help them rebuild and learn about her culture, but Suan and Kate go back to California. Kate and Shuan go back to normal life, going out with friends, being chauffeurs, and karaoke.
